DAY 1: Siem Reap & the Angkor

Su-sa-dei! Welcome to Siem Reap, the gateway to the Angkor Wonder! Upon arrival, you will be greeted and transferred to your hotel for check-in.

This afternoon, we will explore the jungle-covered temple of Ta Prohm, one of the most iconic sites within the Angkor Archaeological Park. Pop culture enthusiasts might recognize it from scenes in Angelina Jolie’s Tomb Raider. The temple’s structure is enveloped by massive fig trees and towering creepers, creating a striking image of nature reclaiming man’s creation – a truly photogenic spot.

Later in the day, enjoy a fun tuk-tuk ride around Siem Reap town, where you can observe the everyday life of the locals. To conclude, receive a blessing from Buddhist monks, wishing you safety, prosperity, and happiness on your journey.

The evening is yours to enjoy at leisure.

An optional Angkor Sunrise experience is available for those who wish to witness the breathtaking scene of the sun rising over the temples of Angkor Wat.

After breakfast at the hotel, we will drive out of town to visit Banteay Srei, a stunning temple built in the late 10th century. Known for its exquisite religious architecture, this masterpiece is adorned with intricate bas-reliefs carved into pink sandstone, leaving no surface undecorated. Along the way, we’ll stop at the village of Preah Dak, where you’ll have the opportunity to engage with the locals and gain insights into their daily life. We will also visit the Banteay Samre temple, which is beautifully embellished with reliefs depicting the legends of Vishnu and Krishna.

In the afternoon, we’ll explore Angkor Thom, the last and most enduring capital of the Khmer Empire. Our visit includes the South Gate of Angkor Thom, the Bayon Temple with its 54 towers featuring the enigmatic smiling faces of Buddha, the Royal Enclosure, Phimeanakas, the Terrace of the Elephants, and the Terrace of the Leper King.

We’ll then proceed to Angkor Wat, the largest religious monument in the world and an iconic symbol of the Great Khmer Empire. Its five towering spires represent the sacred peaks of Mount Meru. As we stroll through this vast complex, we’ll explore its many galleries with columns, libraries, pavilions, courtyards, and ponds, where the reflection of the temple adds to the serene atmosphere.
