Renowned for its exquisite religious architecture and carvings, every inch of this masterpiece is adorned with intricate bas-reliefs on pink sandstone. Along the way, you’ll stop at the local village of Preah Dak, where you’ll have the opportunity to learn about local life and engage with the community. You’ll also visit the Banteay Samre temple, featuring impressive reliefs depicting scenes from the legends of Vishnu and Krishna.

In the afternoon, you’ll explore the Preah Khan temple complex, built by King Jayavarman VII in honor of his father on the site of his victory over invaders. The temple’s name, meaning “Holy Sword,” is derived from its original title, “the Holy City of Victory.” This vast complex once served as a Buddhist monastery and school, housing over 1,000 monks.

Next, you’ll visit Neak Pean, a small island temple in the center of the last Baray, which represents Anavatapta, a mythical Himalayan lake believed to have healing waters.
