DAY 2: Discover the Angkor

This morning, you’ll embark on a journey to explore Angkor Thom, the last and most enduring capital of the Khmer Empire. Your visit includes the South Gate of Angkor Thom, the Bayon Temple with its 54 towers adorned with serene and mysterious smiling faces of Buddha, the Royal Enclosure, Phimeanakas, the Terrace of the Elephants, and the Terrace of the Leper King.
Next, you’ll visit Ta Prohm, the jungle-covered temple made famous by the movie Tomb Raider starring Angelina Jolie. Here, massive fig trees and giant creepers have entwined themselves around the temple’s stone foundations, creating a dramatic scene where nature seems to reclaim man’s creation.
In the afternoon, you’ll explore Angkor Wat, the largest religious monument in the world and a symbol of the Great Khmer Empire, with its five majestic towers representing the sacred peaks of Mount Meru.
Later, enjoy a fun tuk-tuk ride around Siem Reap, where you can observe local life and receive a blessing ceremony from Buddhist monks, wishing you safety, prosperity, and happiness on your journey.
The evening is yours to spend at leisure.

DAY 3: Angkor further discovery

After breakfast at the hotel, you’ll head out of town to visit Banteay Srei, a stunning temple built in the late 10th century. Renowned for its exquisite religious architecture and carvings, every inch of this masterpiece is adorned with intricate bas-reliefs on pink sandstone. Along the way, you’ll stop at the local village of Preah Dak, where you’ll have the opportunity to learn about local life and engage with the community. You’ll also visit the Banteay Samre temple, featuring impressive reliefs depicting scenes from the legends of Vishnu and Krishna.
In the afternoon, you’ll explore the Preah Khan temple complex, built by King Jayavarman VII in honor of his father on the site of his victory over invaders. The temple’s name, meaning “Holy Sword,” is derived from its original title, “the Holy City of Victory.” This vast complex once served as a Buddhist monastery and school, housing over 1,000 monks.
Next, you’ll visit Neak Pean, a small island temple in the center of the last Baray, which represents Anavatapta, a mythical Himalayan lake believed to have healing waters.
You’ll return to the hotel, with the remainder of the day free for you to spend at your leisure.

DAY 4: Tonle Sap Lake Cruise - Departure

In the morning, you’ll embark on a tour to Tonle Sap Lake, Cambodia’s “Great Lake” and one of the largest in Asia, sometimes stretching over 150 kilometers in length. You’ll enjoy a boat cruise off the beaten path to explore the natural beauty of the lake and visit a floating fishing village, where you’ll gain insight into the traditional lifestyle of the people living on the water and understand the vital role the lake plays in the lives of Cambodians.
If time allows, you’ll also visit a local market and the Artisan D’Angkor workshop, where young Cambodians learn and work to preserve traditional arts.
Afterward, you’ll be transferred to Siem Reap International Airport for your onward flight.
