Overview
Thiên Đường Cave, also known as Paradise Cave, is situated in Phong Nha-Kẻ Bàng National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, located 60 km northwest of Đồng Hới city. The cave lies at an elevation of 200 meters above sea level, near the western branch of the Ho Chi Minh Highway in Son Trach Commune, Bố Trạch District, Quảng Bình Province, Vietnam. Discovered by a local resident in 2005, the first 5 km were initially explored by the British Cave Research Association that same year. Later, the entire 31 km of the cave was explored and announced by British cave explorers. Thiên Đường Cave is longer than Phong Nha Cave, previously considered the longest in the park. It reaches a height of up to 72 meters and a width of 150 meters. The limestone formations inside are even more impressive than those of Phong Nha Cave, leading the British explorers to name it Paradise Cave due to its stunning and breathtaking stalactites and stalagmites.
