Detailed Itinerary
We’ll pick you up from your hotel lobby at the agreed departure time to begin our fantastic day trip.
1. Hai Van Pass
One of the most spectacular routes from Hoi An to Hue is the drive over Hai Van Pass. You’ll be captivated by the breathtaking views of the mountains and the sea. Situated 500 meters above sea level, Hai Van Pass is the highest pass in Vietnam. On clear days, the panoramic vistas from the top include Da Nang city, Son Tra Peninsula, Lang Co Beach, and Chan May Port, offering truly awe-inspiring sights.
At the peak of the pass, you’ll also find remnants of history, such as an old watchtower and bullet marks on the walls from the wartime era. You might spend about an hour at Hai Van Pass before heading down to Lang Co Beach, located at the base of the pass. Known as one of the most beautiful beaches in Thua Thien Hue province, Lang Co boasts a pristine tropical forest, fine white sand, and crystal-clear water. It is ranked as the 3rd most beautiful bay in Vietnam (after Nha Trang and Ha Long Bay) among the 30 most stunning bays in the world. At Lang Co Beach, you can enjoy the refreshing sea air, serene surroundings, and delectable fresh seafood at local restaurants, making it an ideal stop for relaxation and enjoyment on a summer day.
2. Hoi An Ancient Town
A simple but delightful experience involves strolling around to admire the historic houses and the vibrant lantern-lit streets at night. With motorbikes restricted in certain areas, these streets are tranquil and dust-free. You can also visit a local street vendor or specialty restaurant to try local treats like Mot Tea, Sweet Soup, or Chicken Rice. If you’re interested in custom clothing, take some time to visit a tailor shop where you can have garments made on the spot, often for around $6. Additionally, an entrance ticket costing about $6 will grant you access to explore the ancient buildings.

In addition to Tan Ky House, Hoi An features other historical homes such as Phung Hung House and Quan Thang House, as well as the Cantonese and Fujian clubs, which showcase traditional Chinese architecture built by Chinese merchants to honor their heritage.
3. Marble Mountain if time permit
On your way back, if time allows, you can visit Marble Mountain, known as Ngu Hanh Son in Vietnamese. Located 8 km southeast of Da Nang in Hoa Khue village, Hoa Vang district, Marble Mountain is a cluster of five marble and limestone peaks, each representing one of the five elements: Kim Son (metal), Moc Son (wood), Thuy Son (water), Hoa Son (fire), and Tho Son (earth).

The mountains feature an intricate network of caves and tunnels that add to their allure. Among the five, Thuy Son is the tallest and the main attraction, boasting numerous caves and Buddhist temples. Climbing the 150 stone steps to the top of Thuy Son rewards you with a stunning panoramic view of the surrounding mountains and rivers. At the base of Marble Mountain, you’ll find Non Nuoc Stone Carving Village, a traditional village with nearly two centuries of history renowned for its fine art stone carvings. Here, you can discover exquisite jewelry made from precious stones, jade, and large stone statues, all crafted by skilled artisans within a few hours.
