Your tour begins in the morning with a private car picking you up from your hotel in Hanoi. You’ll travel 150 km, taking around two hours, to reach Pha Got Port in Hai Phong. Upon arrival at the port, you’ll board a ferry to Cat Ba Island, where your adventure of exploring the stunning landscapes of Cat Ba will commence.

Among the 367 islands that form the southeastern part of Ha Long Bay, Cat Ba is the largest, spanning an area of 285 square kilometers. Half of the island is covered by a National Park, which is home to many critically endangered species. Cat Ba is the only island in Ha Long Bay with a resident population, housing about 13,000 inhabitants.
Cat Ba Island boasts a rich diversity of natural ecosystems, contributing to its remarkable biodiversity. The island features limestone karsts, tropical limestone forests, coral reefs, mangroves, seagrass beds, lagoons, beaches, caves, and willow swamp forests.
Today, with its breathtaking landscapes, Cat Ba Island has become a top destination for both international and Vietnamese tourists. There are numerous attractions to explore, including the Hospital Cave, Cat Ba town, Cat Ba National Park, and the Cat Ba Langur, one of the world’s most endangered primates.
While the trip from Hanoi to Cat Ba Island isn’t overly long, it’s wise to prepare for the journey since it involves both bus and ferry travel, which might be uncomfortable for some. If you’re staying on a cruise, the most convenient way to reach your cruise from Hanoi is by private car.

- 50% of your total booking will be charged if you cancel from 48 hours prior to your scheduled trip date.
- 100% of your total booking will be charged if you cancel from 24 hours prior to your scheduled trip date.
- If you want to stop swimming at the beach, we are happy to stop for you. But we won’t take responsibility if there are any issues.
