Eager Morning
Toa Kham Wharf, 49 Le Loi Street
Named after the French Resident Superior in Annam (Central Vietnam) during the late 19th century, Toa Kham Wharf was a key site until it was destroyed in 1945. Today, it serves as the docking point for HRS’s Nam Xuan and Nam Binh boutique boats, which offer tours along the Perfume River.

Truong Tien Bridge
Designed by Gustave Eiffel in 1897, the Truong Tien Bridge was completed in 1899 and has connected the banks of the Perfume River for over a century. Originally named Thanh Thai after the Nguyen Dynasty king, and later known as Clemenceau, Nguyen Hoang, and Truong Tien or Trang Tien, the bridge has undergone several repairs and modifications. After storm damage in 1904 and further renovations in 1906, 1946, and 1968, it was extensively renovated again between 1991 and 1995. The bridge received a modern lighting system in 2002 and remains a symbol of Hue’s romantic charm despite the presence of other bridges like Bach Ho and Phu Xuan.

Nghinh Luong Dinh Pavilion
Built in 1852, the Nghinh Luong Dinh Pavilion served as a resting place for the Emperor while fishing. Located on the Perfume River opposite Phu Van Lau, this brick pavilion with a tiled roof and 13 steps down to the water offers a picturesque view of the river. Recently restored, it continues to be a popular spot for visitors.
Da Vien Islet
Da Vien Islet, officially named by King Tu Duc, is situated at the entrance to the Hue Royal Palace. In the early 19th century, King Gia Long designated Da Vien as the White Tiger and Hen Islet as the Azure Dragon, symbols used to guard the Emperor’s throne in the Imperial City of Hue.

Quoc Hoc Stelae
This war memorial, located on the southern bank of the Huong River in front of Quoc Hoc High School, commemorates French and Vietnamese soldiers who died in World War I. Designed by Ton That Sa, the memorial was completed between May and September 1920. Its traditional screen design, featuring stylized dragon and floral motifs, and two imposing brick pillars, honors the 31 French and 78 Vietnamese soldiers engraved on the memorial. While constructed under French colonial rule, the memorial’s architecture and artistry are highly regarded and it serves as a prominent site during the Hue Festival.
