Cu Chi Tunnel A Half Day

Overview

The Cu Chi Tunnels are an underground network constructed during World War II, initially serving as a defensive structure to hide and store weapons from enemies. Situated northwest of Ho Chi Minh City, approximately 40 km away, the tunnels feature numerous rooms, including infirmaries, bedrooms, kitchens, storage areas, and workspaces. Spanning about 250 km with multiple ventilation shafts, this complex system has become a significant historical site, attracting over 20 million visitors by 2015, eager to explore and learn about Vietnam’s history.

Itinerary

Cu Chi Tunnel A Half Day

Depart from the HCM Office (or pick up at your hotel/residence upon request) and head towards the Cu Chi Tunnels.

Upon arrival, you will begin with a brief introduction followed by a short video detailing how the tunnels were constructed and how people endured the challenging wartime conditions. Afterward, take your time exploring the remaining areas and tunnel systems, which include specially designed living quarters with kitchens and bedrooms, alongside other essential facilities such as storage rooms, weapons factories, field hospitals, and command centers that supported the basic needs of those living underground. The tunnels also feature hidden trap doors and dangerous traps that were used for security purposes during the war. After your exploration, enjoy a serving of special tea and cassava, the staple food of guerrilla fighters during the war.

Take a break to relax or, for those interested, try your hand at real shooting guns.

Return to Saigon to conclude the trip.
